TAKING CARE OF MOUTH
Society has always placed a duty of care upon us to show
great concern for our very feeble family members. The usual activity is for a
nurse specialized in taking care of the sick and the elderly to be involved in
the caring process. But this is often difficult to be achieved because there is
a scarcity of trained personnel in this area. Another reason for the lack of
care could be a dearth in particular equipment’s that facilitates the process
of taking care for the old and the sick.
These should not be a lot of trouble to those living with
the old and sick. There are varieties of such equipment’s and at very
reasonable prices provided by nursing homes. This equipment’s have been made to
adapt to any condition that you may want. For example, there is an adjustable
electrical bed to suit whatever position you or the patient wants. An added
advantage is that such beds make available more than a perfect sleeping
position to a suitable position for resting and even reading. This is very
suitable for any patient with walking complications, of which prolonged stay in
bed has been prescribed. This bed also has facilities to be regulated to any
desired height or position, making it feasible for a bedridden patient to feel
the best of comfort while in bed.
A lot of care and concern has been given to this innovation
because it is a known fact that a majority of bedridden patients more often
than not go through poor blood transmission. This medical condition often leads
to sever pains and possible blood clots within the body. Bedsores, urinary
tract contaminations, constipation and boils have also been associated with
prolonged stay in bed. It is a medical fact that continuous stay in the same
position by a patient may result to a strain on the points of contacts, leading
to poor transmission of blood and finally to dead tissues. These are all
complications that should be avoided by the patient and those who take care of
the patient. These are what worsen the physical health of the patient.
There are a variety of beds designed to adjust the patient’s
sleeping positions for at least two hours per day. This bed is readily made to
meet the worries of those taking care of patients, but who may not be trained
in special health care activities such as lifting or changing sleeping
positions for a patient suffering form bedsores.
Why should these be a cause for concern?
