ADVERTISING FOR CORPORATE WEBSITES

April 20, 2019 5

Is there such thing as free online advertising for corporate websites?

A major problem for many corporate websites is the fact that trying to advertise online could have a huge financial cost especially if this is not arranged under a comprehensive digital marketing plan which would have as a target an acceptable ROI.

Could there be a successful promotional campaign for a corporate website without the existence of any advertising budget? Or should we set it in a different perspective and ask whether there are ways to promote a corporate website that do not carry any financial cost? Some might say, yes this is totally feasible as there are many free ways to promote a website, mostly through the internet.

ADVERTISING FOR CORPORATE WEBSITES

My own response to the above questions is that, trying to achieve a successful promotional campaign for a corporate website the first thing that you should set up in your mind is the budget you should have available for this purpose. To support my statement I must stress out the point that the corporate virtual world and the real corporate world share many similarities.

Virtual Vs Real Corporate World:

Let’s say that we decide to set up a new business in a business area any part of the world. Would this business survive in a potentially highly competitive environment without the existence of any promotional budget? I would say, it might, especially if the owner is a very smart and active person which finds continuously smart new ways to promote his/her business without spending a dime. Even if this is the case the success will be limited and the owner would at some point be so exhausted that soon he/she would plead for a bailout!

The same situation and, I would add, even worse, occurs in the virtual business world. Not only the businessman/woman should be smart and active but he/she should also be a highly trained digital marketer that would be able to identify cost-free ways to promote his/her corporate website in an uncontrollable business environment where its aberrant characteristics limit the potentials of success.

Now if you are still looking for some clues of where you can advertise or in general promote your corporate website cost-free, I have set up some ideas for you but always keep in mind while you are going through them that each website (personal, corporate, etc.) in order to succeed and survive it should be accompanied with a customized digital marketing plan prepared by a professional digital marketer.

digital-marketing-components-1

Free online advertising techniques:

- All over the web, there are a lot of websites which offer free online advertising space where anyone can advertise their products and services. Naming a few: http://www.usnetads.com/, http://www.craigslist.com, http://www.inetgiant.com/, http://www.thefreeadforum.com/home/, etc.
- Joining discussion forums specializing in your niche market and discussing the positive features of your products and services would be a good free online advertising technique. Choose forums that allow the use of backlinks and try not to overdo it!
- Ask satisfied and loyal customers (online and real) to feel free to log in different reviewing websites to review your products and services. Naming some such websites: http://www.productreview.com.au, http://www.angieslist.com/, http://www.epinions.com, http://www.yelp.com/

- Contact other website owners in your niche market and make them aware of your existence. For example, if you are selling spare parts for cars contact websites specializing in cars, car sports, etc. Try to create a database of these people and inform them regularly for new products, special offers, etc, that might be of their interest.

- Ask and try to convince your visitors to register your online mailing list. This will create for you a nice mailing list for a target group of current and potential customers that would be interested to keep contact with your website and learn about anything new you might be able to offer. Constructing such a mailing list will allow you to send out on a regular basis newsletter containing new information about your website and your business in general. If you are interested to adopt such a technique a good place to start is http://mailchimp.com/.

- Adopt a well-organized strategy of social media usage where you will allow the spread of your corporate messages through the “word of mouth” digital marketing strategy whereby not paying anything people will show their interest in your products and services. Everybody knows about Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Pinterest, etc.

Apart from the above free online advertising techniques, there are even more that will be discussed in future articles.

Somebody might ask “why should I hire a digital marketer to do all the above if I can do them myself without paying a dime?”. The answer to this question is that if you do not adopt all the above using a well planned digital marketing plan which among others will include additional digital marketing components such as contextual advertising, affiliate advertising, etc, the success of the whole effort will not be the expected.

Additionally, implementing even a mild combination of the above techniques is a very time-consuming effort and I doubt that any entrepreneur will have the time to devoutly administer them himself/herself. Therefore, most probably at the end he/she will have to hire a digital marketer to apply at least those free online advertising techniques in order to promote his/her corporate website.

OPTIMIZATION SUPPORT SEO

Optimization Support

To SEO or not to SEO
As I have mentioned in my previous articles, the power of SEO “gurus”, as they like to be called, has been for a while now under continues questioning as their efforts have been giving limited results (even useless) as they have not being able to offer their customers the desired boost of traffic they promise.

What is SEO:

Optimization Support

The acronym “SEO” stands for Search Engine Optimization which has been growing and expanding in the minds of internet tycoons to be for a while now. The last ten to fifteen years more and more people have been naming themselves as SEO specialists in an effort to convince website owners that they can do miracles and boost website traffic in just a couple of months.
The SEO myth seems now that has been rebutted and many website owners start to dispute the value of SEOs as their results are not the expected ones. We are going to examine this in more detail however lets see what an SEO can or better could had offer to a website owner in the past:

The services of an SEO:

Before the 24th of February 2011 (first Panda update) the services of an SEO were pretty much straight forward. The weaknesses of the Google algorithm (the most used search engine in the world) were easy to detect by the highly involved Internet people.
In short, anyone could have chosen any subject which was high in online search queries and set up a website. That website could have been loaded with material (e.g. articles) which were useless, low quality but full of keywords relative to the subject. From there on the so-called SEO would easily build hundreds of thousands incoming links from worthless similar or not websites. The links would target specific keywords, which people usually use in their searches. The Google keyword tool was mostly used to detect these keywords, which were usually a set of words rather than a single word. After following the above steps the selected keywords would have had high chances of appearing in the first page of Google search results and even sometimes among the first five search results. Such a success would mean definite boost of traffic for the website and increased incomes for the owner. There were cases of websites, which with just 2-3 successfully targeted keywords would have huge number of visitors. Definitely this was unnatural and most times useless as the Internet users were not receiving valuable information from real specialists.

What has changed?

Google easily detected the weaknesses of their algorithm and soon started working on it to minimize the influence of the SEOs on their search results. After a number of updates on their algorithm (Panda and Penguin) they managed to successfully minimize the influence of the SEO “gurus”.
Today we reached to a position where the link building and keyword targeting are offering minimum or even negative results to a website. Even websites which in the past had huge numbers of visitors due to increased SEO actions (mainly link building and keyword targeting) were easily detected by the algorithm updates and were successfully penalized loosing their search rankings and ultimately their traffic and income. I personally had my own share of penalization and experienced the harsh loss of traffic and money from a well SEO website.

Is SEO useless now?

Well, I wouldn’t say that. Even with the Google algorithm updates there are still some features, which an optimizer could work on to increase the potentials of a website’s visibility. Although this is not the subject of the current article I would like to refer you to a relative article of my personal friend and colleague Alex Chris. His article titled “SEO tips for beginners – 15 ways to Google boost your web site” gives a well explained guidance for a potentially successful optimization of a website or blog with minimum chances of getting penalized by the major search engines.
In an upcoming article we will examine the extend of involvement of an SEO in the running of a website or a blog and how much of the available budget should be spend on optimization in the pursue of a successful traffic boosting.

STATIC ,ACTIVE AND DYNAMIC WEBSITE

April 16, 2019 3

Should a company own a static or an active dynamic website for effective online business?

We have been witnessing the last couple of decades a considerable change in the commercial practices where the online business has been making huge steps. Billions of dollars every year exchange hands through the online business and corporations have been investing huge amounts of money in their efforts to increase their online visibility. Many firms today hire computer science people/ programmers to write for them html codes in an effort to build fully optimized websites which will give them the best possible results while trying to reach effectively enough customers and ultimately sell online as much as products and services they can. The problem is that these companies give limited attention on important aspects of the real reason of existence of their website. For example they give too much attention to the look of their website and less on other more important things such as user friendliness, promotion, market segmentation, simplicity, information, etc. But the usual website flaws are not the subject of this article. Let’s see which type of a website should a company own:

Static Website:

Nowadays, firms have already realized that not having a website at all this causes them to be totally out of the game. Even those that do not consider Internet as an investment at least try to possess a static website for informative reasons. What is a static website? A static website can be considered a website which has been constructed at a certain point of time, information concerning the company was uploaded instantly on it and updating is not a matter of regularity. A static website gives a firm some type of visibility while it is trying to stay in limited contact with its basic publics. For example a dedicated customer searching for the exact name of the company might manage through search engines to locate the firm’s website although this might not always be true. The major advantage for a static website is that it has minimum running costs however this type of websites should generally not recommended by digital marketing specialists as the visibility results are not good.

Active Website:

A more active website is a website which has been constructed at a point of time and since then it has been receiving on a continuous basis new updates in the form of articles, comments, social sharing, e-shop updating, gaining natural links, etc. This type of websites has been widely accepted that are more favored by the search engines and they gain much more easily organic traffic not only on specific company keywords but also other multilateral keywords allowing the firms to gain visibility ground in their quest for better search rankings. The visitors particularly favor active websites and it has more chances to gain loyal visitors. It is amazing how people love to see regular changes in websites as static websites might seem too boring as they lack excitement.

Pay less with active websites:

As said above the search engines are more willing to send you more organic traffic when you own an active website, than when owning a static one. For this reason in the case you would like to expand your traffic using other promoting techniques such as ad words, Facebook ads, affiliates, newsletters, etc., you will have to spend much less money for an active than a static website as you should already be receiving some natural organic traffic from the different search engines.Of course an active website will have additional running costs for the continuous updating. However this running cost could be minimized especially if you get your visitors involved in your website through commenting, sharing of their own ideas, uploading material, etc. This is another effective approach which seems to be really appreciated by the search engines and would definitely raise your shares in this highly competitive online market! The chosen type of a website will have its own running costs and returns. Website budgeting is a huge subject who will be examined in future articles.

Dynamic website:

static and dynamic website

A website, or individual online page, are often static or dynamic. A static web site contains info that doesn't modification. It remains the identical, or static, for each viewer of the location. A dynamic website contains info that changes, looking on the viewer, the time of the day, the geographical zone, the viewer's language, and different factors. as an example, the pc Hope main page may be a dynamic web site that mechanically changes daily.

A dynamic web site will contain client-side scripting or server-side scripting to come up with the dynamical content, or a mix of each scripting sorts. These sites additionally embody HTML programming for the fundamental structure. The client-side or server-side scripting takes care of the center of the location.
With client-side HTML scripting, the page will use JavaScript or another scripting language to alter the information of page because it is dynamically designed.
With server-side scripting, scripts are run on the server that hosts the page. the method for the way the page is made is decided by parameters outlined within the server-side scripting.

CORPORATE WEBSITE

Utilization of targeted traffic in corporate websites

Attracting targeted traffic for a corporate website is not such an easy task especially if you are not applying a well organized digital marketing strategy. The application of such a strategy should only be done by an experienced digital marketer and could have thriving results for the website owner.

Let’s define first of all “targeted web traffic”:

“Targeted web traffic consists of internet users which share common characteristics, interests, needs and wants, for which digital marketing efforts could be applied on in order to achieve maximum benefit for a website (or an app)”

As you can easily understand from the above definition, targeted web traffic could offer major advantages to corporate websites. It would be a huge advantage for a company to be able to identify the digital target market of its interest and address all their digital marketing efforts towards them achieving the best possible promotional results (both traffic boosting and financially).
A corporate website which is spending any budgets on online promotions and is not applying any efforts to identify its targeted web traffic is definitely not achieving the maximum targeted exposure for its website. This means that the targeted web users could not be reached and the website could not effectively benefit enough from the promotional efforts.

Let’s use a simple example to elaborate the problem of failing to identify the targeted web traffic for a website:

One online gaming platform is promoting its website through online ads. To accomplish this it is placing banner ads directly on any general content website which agrees to offer website space for advertising purposes. The gaming platform owners have available and use a monthly advertising budget which is paid to the publishers through the CPC method. Due to the highly trafficked general content websites the gaming platform is receiving considerable amounts of visitors. A problem conceived and recognized after a couple of months of applying this promotional tactic is that in spite the very good quantity of traffic received through the online advertising campaigns only a small percentage of visitors register as new gamers on the platform.

Could this be a problem of untargeted web promotional efforts? Obviously yes!

If the promotion of any web product or service is not devotedly focused on the web users who actually belong in the “targeted web traffic” group then the return on investment (ROI) for the website owners (in our case the gaming platform owners) will not be sufficiently effective in order to keep the efforts going. Therefore, a well planned digital marketing strateg y should be developed in order to accomplish the desired success with a very good ROI which will allow the website owners into keep going and effectively surviving in this highly competitive market.

Digital Market Segmentation techniques:

Something that needs to be said for all those who we are involved in the evolution efforts of the newborn digital marketing discipline is that we need to devote ourselves in constructing effective market segmentation techniques that will allow the successful identification of target visitors for specific websites.
Effective digital market segmentation techniques are essential tools for any digital marketer who wants to offer effectively his/her services to corporate websites. I confidently predict that in the near future there will be considerable research in this field as it has a lot to offer for the online business.
I will be examining extensively in future articles the digital market segmentation and potential techniques that could be developed as tools for the digital marketers to use in order to construct effective digital marketing strategies for their customers.

8 BASIC DIGITAL MARKETING TIPS WILL INCREASE TRAFFIC

April 11, 2019 3

8 basic digital marketing tips that will help to increase the traffic of your blog

Types of blogs:

Let’s say a couple of things about blogs as there are still some of us who might not yet cleared up the real meaning of blogging. First we need to need to say that a blog does not always mean that it should be a personal webpage. For instance in our days we have cases of well known online newspapers using blogs inside their main websites to offer better interaction of their authors with their audiences. Therefore, today there are numerous other uses of blogs, which have driven them away from just being a personal matter.
In spite this fact, blogging mainly remains and will remain for many years to come a personal matter. As I have mentioned in previous articles the fact that blogging is a one-man/woman show, causes difficulties to its owner in his/her efforts to promote his/her blog in order to attract satisfactory traffic.
However, they’re numerous simple digital marketing techniques that can be very helpful when trying to attract traffic. Here below I name 8 simple ways:

  1. On page Optimization of your blog

Organic traffic remains and will always remain the most valuable source of attracting web traffic. If you devoutly get involved into constructing a blog that will obey all the white hat on-page search engine optimization techniques you will have many possibilities of succeeding high volumes of organic traffic.

2. Twitter

Many would disagree with me for placing Twitter over Facebook, however from my personal experience Twitter has better results than Facebook in the efforts to attract targeted traffic for a blog. You will be amazed how easily people follow twitter accounts when they share the same interests. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Fist you need to set up a Twitter account.
- Follow other accounts (try to choose personal accounts rather than websites) with the same interests as with your website.
- Try to keep a balance with following and being followed as Twitter can easily inactivate you for over-following.
- If you followed too many and there is no mutual response use automated tools to follow those that do not follow you. Manage flitter is a great tool to use for this purpose.
- Start twitting your posts as early as possible and keep track of your blog visitors through Twitter.
- Keep trying to attract more followers. The more the more visits you get when you twit posts.

3. Facebook and other social media

I definitely recommend the use of Facebook and any other possible social medias you can get your hands on. The use of Facebook is not as easy as may look however the traffic results in the long term might be very valuable for any type of blog. The main disadvantage I experienced with Facebook (and other social media I used until now, apart from Twitter) is that is too tricky to attract targeted traffic something which has its own flaws in the pursue for targeted traffic boosting.

4. Sending Newsletters on regular basis

An effective digital marketing technique is to manage to convince your visitors to register on your blog’s newsletter. I personally use this technique with very good results. The main problem here is to convince your visitors that your material is worthwhile to follow as a loyal visitor. That is one more reason why your content should be unique and very useful. This way the visitor will register for the newsletters so that they can learn more from you. Make sure to use a user-friendly widget to allow people to register easily. I personally use Mail chimp,Aweber which is very handy, and it is easy to create promotional campaigns for your blog. As long as you manage to collect enough registrations start a promotional campaign (preferably on a daily basis) sending to your followers news from your blog.

5. Organizing promotional competitions

People tend to love competitions even with small presents. If you manage to find a way to arrange a competition among your visitors, this will give extra value to your blog. One technique I used with very good results is the following. I asked my visitors to submit through email their own thoughts/ideas one a certain subject. The best 5 won a price and most of those ideas were posted on my blog. With this way I attracted more visitors (and ultimately loyal visitors) and at the same time I got very good and unique content for my blog.

6. Keep contact with your audience

One very important thing that you need always to remember (especially when you are applying marketing techniques) is that human beings love attention. Try to keep track of what your visitors are looking for and try give it them. Do not hesitate to personalize. If you show your visitor that you really care about his/her wants and needs be sure that you won one more loyal visitor and many other that he/she will bring with him/her. Always respond to comments (excluding spam), good and bad.

 7. Create allies

A very successful traffic boosting technique I personally use is the creation of valuable allies with other websites. This does not only mean websites in the same field as your blog. On the contrary, a co-operation with a multi thematic website can send you considerable traffic numbers every day. For example let’s say that you own a fashion blog and you are posting daily fashion news and other related material. You can contact online newspapers or similar websites and offer to send them on a daily basis a post in the field of your blogs’ interest. This way the other websites could build a special fashion section and in return you could ask them to post a visible link to your side or even better a small banner to promote your blog to their visitors.

8. Create an app

Apps are highly trending nowadays and everybody is searching for them. TN  BCVXFHYGCCF47qa23t51 qherefore, you could use your RSS feed to create an android app (or other types of apps) for your blog and post it on the different markets. People who will download your application to their gadgets most probably will visit your website in many occasions.
I know from my own experience that it is very time consuming and almost impossible to adopt all the above digital marketing techniques at the same time. However, if you construct a well planned schedule you can start utilizing them step by step and one by one keeping track of the traffic changes for you blog.

hope fully this information will helpful for you .
